Blue Monday

Feeling blue? Today - January 19, 2009 - is the most depressing day in HISTORY, say experts.

Source: www.thedailymail.co.uk

The first time I’ve read it this morning, I simply dismissed the idea until my colleague’s computer suddenly made an unusual noise while we were DISS-cussing the second coming of Bebe Gandanghari. Look what happened ------->

Nakakaloka. Nabiyak yung CD into pieces sa loob ng cd drive.

Then I immediately googled what today is all about.

Well, Mondays have always been the worst day of the week. Haha. Many of us (sometimes or most of the time) dread the fact of coming back to work on Mondays. Aminin na natin. But today is different, today is special, today is Blue Monday.

Well, I am not really sure how to put it correctly but reports say that yes, it is the most depressing day of the year (may ganun pala di ba?). According to these experts, the six depressive factors will come together today including the winter weather, Christmas credit card bills and abandoned New Year's resolutions. Fears over job security, mounting debt and the house price collapse make this year the toughest yet.

True!!! – six times. I mean they do have a point. I just can’t believe that the world will be aligned in having the same deperessing day. How cool is that huh. Anyhoo.. Let me share what I had to endure this Blue Monday….

One. The weather is/was HUMID.

Last week, I was trying my best to be the Godfather of layering. I mean, I fully enjoyed the cold weather. Aside from the fact that I got to use my really makapal clothes, it somehow made us ‘tipid’ by not having to use aircons and even electric fans at times.

Two. Really, terribly bad traffic.

Today, I had to endure a travel time of exactly an hour and 38 minutes for a less than five kilometer distance (Buendia LRT to Makati Avenue). Goodness.

Three. People were either sleepy or disoriented.

In a few conversations I had today – some were really sleepy to even care or does not have the normal mental health to answer. Nakakatawa talaga. Even me, I had the “mali-mali” syndrome earlier. Hahaha.

And of course, what could top the broken CD drive of my colleague’s pc. It retired on its own. Hahaha. Which got me thinking, baka nga si Bebe ang malas kanina. Oh well, tell me your Blue Monday stories or if you even talked about Bebe. Compare notes tayo. Hahahaha.

p.s.

Yes, Binibini "Bebe" Gandanghari was the actor formerly known as Rustom Padilla. Naging crush ko pa ata siya dati nung action star pa siya. Shet. Hahahaha.

We Made It

I promised my friend Hazel that I’ll scout for cute places to visit this summer. Well, I did – so I headed to the most reliable source of information – the net.

I immediately went to search on some of my favorite resorts – the ones which I’ve heard of or were recommended by some other friends - but have yet to pay a visit. And while I was going through the usual travel websites I found something interesting…

The New York Times recently published an article regarding travel and places to visit. And look who’s on the list… Dallllliiiii…

This is like worldwide... Cool di ba?? Or masyado lang akong nationalistic. I’ve been to Bora a couple of times and yes it was/is beautiful. But just feels like the scene there is getting old already – or maybe I am getting old. Ako lang pala yon. Hahahaha.

How I wish the other equally beautiful places we have will get the same exposure. Caramoan, Palawan, Bohol, Bantayan Island, and sooooooooooo many more. But this is a good start right? Hahahaha.. I want to go to a beach na tuloy. Darrrrnnnn…. Can't wait for the cold weather to go away... Hehehe..

Mercury Rising

Dear Vinson,

Mercury -- the Messenger God in mythology and the ruler of transportation and communication turns retrograde in Aquarius on January 11. This is the first of the four Mercury retrogrades happening in 2009 and lasts till January 31 or February 1 (depending upon your time zone), when he halts and begins his return to direct motion through the zodiac

Just when I thought I got it all figured out. Mercury turns Retrograde.

Cge na nga, I admit - I am a subscriber of Astrological informations over the net. Hahaha. Not that I plan to be a fortune teller or anything. Neither am I a die-hard fanatic who always makes sure that the alignment of the moon and the stars will be perfect in every decision. I simply use it as a guide – given that the things I get to read are a lil sensible and less superficial than usual.

And this is one of them.

I believed in this since I personally experienced the same symptoms, results and effects during the previous Retrogrades. Kaya sabi ko, the next time it happens, I’ll be more mindful and careful.

"Communications go wonky. Computers misbehave. Things are lost and then found later and then lost again. Appointments get cancelled or forgotten. Wrong numbers are dialled. Delays interrupt the normal flow of things. Second thoughts lead us to doubt our decisions. Arguments erupt. The best laid plans seem to spin their wheels in the mud, and "business as usual" can be very hard to maintain. We drift off in mid-sentence and wonder what we were just... um..... you know..."

This is a GREAT time to reflect, rethink, re-examine our plans. To do some extra research on things that really matter and to be extra extra patient – because things may take longer to finish, even more than your usual hours. Yay!!!!

So children, try not to make big decisions over the next couple of weeks. During this time, AVOID signing contracts. Miscommunication is very rampant. Never assume that you are always on the same page because what was communicated may not actually be what was heard. Quadruple check everything. Hahahaha. Expect surprises, some minor or major delays. And nga pala, sabi nila, this is also a good season to somehow relax and take some time for closure with the things in your life that have recently ended. Go!

p.s.
Buti na lang malamig ang panahon, in case mag-init ang ulo nating lahat!!!! Hahahaha.

I Don't Like

I used to hate Clowns. Not that I had any bad experience with them around or something. I just find them a lil eeeerrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyy… I don’t know why some kids like them and why parents choose to have one over their kid’s party. They're strange, creepy and frightening. Nakakatakot sila talaga.. And they’re not even funny.. Hahahaha.

I recently went to my Godson’s first birthday slash baptismal party and was surprised to find that there’s a Clown on site. Sorry for the term, but this creepo just kept on buggin me to join some stupid game. Buti na lang may naituro akong iba.

I was surprised to find out, that up until now, Clowns still freak me out. Hahahaha. After all these years, they still scare the shit out of me. Now, I wonder where it all started. Siguro dahil kay Bart Simpson who kept saying "can't sleep, clown will eat me"... Hahaha..

Basta I still don’t like clowns. Kahit kumain pa siya ng apoy.. Ayoko talaga…

Why can't we all just loooovvvvvveeeee Mickey Mouse!!!!! I think he's more charming... Hahahaha.

Something for the New Year

As we start yet another year, it is that time again to re-assess, re-examine, re-group,re-touch?, re-map and re-build our life. Well that is (hopefully) according to what we want to do with it.

I am sooooooooooooooo done with New Year’s resolution, all they do is pressure me – to actually break them. Hahahaha. I read somewhere, that it is in fact better to make plans or goals you’d want to achieve for the year, rather than make those easily breakable New Year’s Resolution thing. So here I am, putting it into writing, para daw mas effective.

***** Geez.. Feeling ko tuloy nasa work ako, at gumagawa ng WIGS – Wildly Important Goals. Hahahahaha.. Ang creepy ng feeling…

Goal numero uno - To Lose weight.

In the next three months, I plan to lose all the excessive weight that I gained over the past year. Imagine, for the year 2008, I gained exactly 23 freakin’ pounds of fat. I hate it. I really hate it. Hahaha. Umaarte na naman. I swear by my new wallet, that I will try my very best to get into shape before summer officially starts. I want to be this thin -------
>>

Okay. Hindi naman masyadong ganyan na losing weight. Masyadong OA na yan, but I heard this girl got better na. Good for her. For 2009. Feee-aaahhhhhssss…

Goal numero dos – To not forget goal numero UNO. Yes, it is that important.

$Lechon and Lechon Kawali

Pork Belly

Sisig

And all other fatty foods…

Goal numero tres – To get into another activity.

For 2008, there were two major things that I have gotten myself into. And by that, I didn’t mean I have gotten into fights with other people. I got myself involved into doing Photography and to engage in some Yoga practices. These two new things for ’08 had made me diversify my year. And for 2009, I want to do something new. Something fun. Something different and fabulous. This one, as of this writing, I haven’t really figured out yet what. Baka mag-pop out na lang siya sa mind ko in one of my relaxing yoga practice. Haha. If you have suggestions, email me! Dallliiii…

Goal numero cuatro – To get my own ride.

The year 2007 was perhaps the year where I encountered the nastiest cab drivers ever. Kung bibilangin ko ang mga unfortunate ‘incidents’ ko with them, pooocha, kulang ang daliri ng kamay ko, isama mo na ang paa pati kamay ng katabi ko. Hahahaha. I mean, yes, I know, life is hard. But do they really have to be that mean and ‘mapagsamantala’??? Tampered meter, Dagdagan mo ako ng P50 – said in ala holdaper tone, galit galitan mode kasi ma-traffic, etc. I’m sure, you wouldn’t approve of these shenanigans as well. Kung ayaw niyo ng malayo at ma-traffic, sana nag pedicap driver na lang kayo – para malapitan lang ang biyahe. Chiiiieeeetttttt.. They make me wanna be Blair. Seriously!

Anyhoo, dahil jan, I want my own ride na for2009, and this time, I promise to get my license. I want a Maybach.

Okay fine. That maybe is a lil too superficial. Right now, I am in love with the Hilux but will setlle for the fuel efficient Vios.

Goal numero cinco – To pay out all my card and retain only one.

I used to have four. Hahahaha. Ewan ko kung bakit. It just accumulated without me knowing it. Kidding. To date, I’ve settled the other two and sent them to Timbuktu so that I can never touch them again. Now, with two left, I may just cut the other one and throw them in the bin, that I think is way much easier to do. I want to achieve this so that I can easily get goal numero cuatro achieved in no time. So all benefactor wannabeeeesssss - call me! Hahahaha. Kidding.

These are just the first five that comes to mind right now. I’m completing this list in my own private lil space. Map yours and let’s try to achieve them altogether!!!! Sugod!!!!
